Who I am

Hi I’m Michela, a chartered psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland and the British Psychological Society. During and following graduation from the Doctorate in Counselling Psychology at Trinity College Dublin in 2012, I accrued over 13 years of experience in various mental health settings throughout Ireland. These included working in the area of trauma at the HSE National Counselling Service (where I also did my Doctoral thesis on the experience of being a father for male survivors of sexual abuse), Counselling in Primary Care and over a decade supporting university students at the Trinity College Student Counselling Service. More recently I worked with the Adult Autism and ADHD practice, conducting strengths-based autism assessments (identification) which sparked a passion for the area of neurodivergence.

In my practice I support adults facing mental health issues including depression, anxiety, stress, grief, self-esteem, sexuality, identity and relationship issues, among others. I have an interest in working with and value neurodivergent individuals, including those navigating late-diagnosed autism and ADHD. I am both LGBTQIA+ and neurodiversity affirming, with extensive experience working in these areas. As a mother to young children, I also have a deep understanding of the parenting experience and the emotional issues many parents may face.

My approach is kind, compassionate, collaborative, and client-centred, and I endeavor to make my practice a safe space for all. I am focused on building resilience, clarity, and meaningful coping strategies.
